Our commitment to reducing our environmental impact
As a pioneer in the sector, Norbert Dentressangle has included a sustainable development commitment in its strategic objectives since 2003. Since then, this commitment has been an everyday reality for all our employees, who are determined to reduce the environmental impact of their activities.
In terms of logistics, which, by definition, causes very little pollution, we are extending our policy of obtaining ISO 14001 environmental certification to all our European sites.
As the owners of Europe’s No.1 HGV fleet, we are at the forefront of the fight to reduce the environmental impact caused by trucks. Firmly committed to reducing the greenhouse gas emissions caused by our transport operations, we are also convinced that trucks are not the problem, but form part of the solution.
Our strategy for reducing the environmental impact of our activities:
- Our strategy of obtaining ISO 14001 environmental certification for all our European sites
- Responsible drivers trained in economical driving
- Investing in the most innovative and economical transport resources in terms of fuel consumption, as well as renewing our vehicle fleet (85% of our fleets meets the Euro IV and Euro V standards)
- Providing, wherever possible, multimodal transport solutions (rail/sea/river/road).
- The carbon calculator designed and developed by our teams, in order to reliably measure CO2 emissions produced by our customers’ transport activities
Proof of our commitment
- 57% of our logistics sites are ISO 14001 certified for the environment
- 100% of our contracts worth over 1 million Euros include CO2 impact assessment
- 85% of our vehicle fleet meets the strictest environmental standards (Euro IV and Euro V)
